DaysofPal- Two Palestinian brothers were shot dead on Monday amid a sweeping surge of settler attacks across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, as the violence of Israeli settlers reached an unprecedented scale against the Palestinian community.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health said Mohammad Taha Muammar, 52, and his brother Faheem Taha Muammar, 48, were killed after being struck by live ammunition fired by Israeli settlers during a large settler raid on the town of Qaryut, south of Nablus.
Residents reported that dozens of armed settlers descended on the outskirts of the town after nightfall, firing toward homes and at Palestinians who had gathered to oppose bulldozing activities on nearby land.
Witnesses alleged that Israeli forces were present during the assault, providing protection for the settlers and using live fire and tear gas against local residents attempting to defend their property.
Several people were injured, and some of the wounded were reportedly detained.
Elsewhere, tensions flared in communities surrounding Jerusalem, where in the town of al-Ram, clashes broke out after settlers allegedly tried to enter the area’s outskirts.
Several Palestinian young men were treated for tear gas inhalation and minor injuries.
In the Ramallah governorate, settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles near the villages of al-Mughayyir and Sinjil, whre settlers also threw stones at passing cars, damaging multiple vehicles and injuring a woman.
Palestinian national and Islamic factions condemned the events in Qaryut as organized terrorism, accusing settler groups of attempting to entrench annexation efforts and forcibly displace residents.
The latest violence comes amid heightened regional tensions, as Human rights groups have documented more than 640 settler-related attacks over the past month, including arson, destruction of agricultural land, and physical assaults on civilians, raising concerns about escalating instability in the territory.
