DaysofPal – On December 25, 2025, Hamas released what it described as its second official narrative on the “Al-Aqsa Flood battle,” the operation it launched on October 7, 2023, against Israeli settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip.
The narrative was published in a document titled “Al-Aqsa Flood: Two Years of Steadfastness and the Will of Liberation,” which the movement released simultaneously in Arabic and English. Hamas said the publication seeks to present a comprehensive account of the battle and its political, military, and historical dimensions following two years of war and confrontation.
In a statement accompanying the release, Hamas said that the Al-Aqsa Flood was more than a military operation, characterizing it as a defining moment that marked the emergence of what it called a free and unmanipulated collective consciousness.
The movement said that after two years of genocide and steadfastness, its narrative had become unmistakably clear, asserting that the Palestinian people cannot be erased, that the resistance endures and cannot be defeated, and that collective memory remains intact.
Hamas reiterated that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, along with the return of Palestinian refugees to their land, is not a distant aspiration but a legitimate and internationally recognized right. According to the statement, these goals represent a historical and political entitlement imposed by a people who endured annihilation without surrendering.
The document reviews two years of developments in the conflict, outlining the motives behind the Al-Aqsa Flood operation and placing them within its historical context as a resistance reaction to occupation. It examines the military course of the war in the Gaza Strip, documenting the scale of destruction and human losses while emphasizing the resilience of the Palestinian population in the face of displacement and forced removal.
In addition, the publication highlights Hamas’s political efforts to bring an end to the assault on Gaza. It references the movement’s engagement with international initiatives, mediation efforts, and prisoner exchange agreements, while also addressing what it considers strategic achievements of the battle. Among these, Hamas points to the return of the Palestinian issue to the center of global attention and what it describes as the growing legal and moral isolation of Israel.
The document concludes by asserting the failure of attempts to eliminate the Palestinian cause and reaffirming the Palestinian right to self-determination and to manage national affairs without external guardianship or imposed oversight. Hamas presents the narrative as both a record of the past two years and a framework for the priorities of the next phase of the struggle.
