Rights Groups Call to Enforce ICC Arrest Warrants Against Netanyahu, Gallant

DaysofPal- International human rights organizations are urging the immediate enforcement of International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes committed during the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.

In a joint statement marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the groups, including al-Karama for Human Rights (Geneva), Torture Victims Association (Geneva), al-Shabaka Center for Human Rights (London), Free Voice for Human Rights (Paris), EFDD International Organization (Belgium), Adalah Foundation (Istanbul), and Solidarity for Human Rights (Geneva), called for holding Israeli officials accountable for atrocities committed in the besieged enclave.

They voiced strong support for the ICC’s case against the Israeli occupation and emphasized the need to swiftly carry out the arrest warrants, which include charges such as using starvation as a weapon of war and committing crimes against humanity, including deliberate killings, persecution, and other inhumane acts.
The organizations stressed that true and lasting peace requires ending the Israeli occupation and ensuring justice for victims by prosecuting those responsible.

The statement noted that this year’s Solidarity Day comes as Gaza endures a fragile ceasefire that has failed to alleviate the immense humanitarian crisis affecting more than two million people.
Large numbers of residents still lack access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, medical care, electricity, and proper shelter, with hundreds of thousands left homeless after entire neighborhoods were flattened by Israeli bombings.

The groups warned that symbolic gestures are no longer enough as Palestinians continue to suffer under the Israeli occupation and oppressive policies.

They said the day serves as a global reminder of the international community’s legal and moral duty toward a population subjected to decades of violence, displacement, and blockade.

They affirmed that genuine solidarity means confronting violations, fighting impunity, and supporting the Palestinian right to an independent state on all Palestinian territories, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Describing the events in Gaza since October 2023 as a full-scale genocide under the 1948 Genocide Convention, the organizations called for urgent international action to pressure the Israeli occupation to comply with humanitarian law, stop targeting civilians, and allow unrestricted humanitarian aid and rescue teams into the Strip.

Since October 2023, Israeli military attacks have killed more than 70,100 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured over 170,900 others in a two-year assault that has left much of Gaza in ruins and its civilian infrastructure almost entirely destroyed.
