DayofPal– A new investigative report by the Canadian coalition “Stop the Arms Trade Now” has revealed that Canada continues to export arms to Israel despite repeated government assurances of a halt since the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza in October 2023.

The report, released today, uncovers what it describes as “systematic deception” in Canada’s arms trade policies, raising serious legal and ethical concerns.

The coalition, which includes groups such as Labour Against the Arms Trade and the Palestine Solidarity Network, used advanced tracking tools for the first time to analyze export data.

Their findings point to a large-scale, concealed transfer of military equipment and ammunition to Israeli defense companies, facilitated by opaque processes and misleading documentation.

The report found that Canada exported 421,070 bullets to Israel, including one shipment in April 2025 containing 175,000 rounds. Other 47 shipments of military components were sent directly to major Israeli arms manufacturers.

In addition, 391 shipments of ammunition, military gear, communication devices, and aircraft parts were identified using data from Israel’s Tax Authority.

Three cartridge shipments originated from a Canadian company that had previously pledged to end its defense contracts with Israel.

Nearly 100 international flights, including 64 commercial passenger flights, carried military components hidden in aircraft cargo to intermediary destinations such as Frankfurt, Paris, New York, Abu Dhabi, and New Delhi.

The coalition asserts that these exports constitute a clear violation of Canadian laws, including the Export and Import Permits Act, as well as the Arms Trade Treaty, an international agreement to which Canada is a signatory.

These breaches could potentially implicate the Canadian government in war crimes and complicity in genocide, according to international legal standards.

In light of the findings, the coalition called on the Canadian government to take immediate action to enforce a total and immediate ban on arms exports to Israel, revoke all active arms export permits to Israeli entities.

Furthermore, it also calls for terminating all Canadian defense contracts with Israeli companies, and halt indirect shipments routed through third countries, particularly the United States.

Since the onset of Israel’s genocide in Gaza in October 2023, more than 60,000 Palestinians have been killed, over 146,000 wounded, and nearly 2 million displaced, according to international monitoring groups.

Observers have described the scale of destruction as the most extensive in the region since World War II.

The revelations in this report are likely to intensify public pressure on the Trudeau government, which has faced mounting criticism for its perceived complicity in the ongoing war and its failure to align foreign policy with international human rights standards.
