DaysofPal—The World Food Program (WFP) has reported a near-total failure in the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as famine deepens and the humanitarian system collapses under Israel’s ongoing assault and blockade, now in its 662nd day.
The WFP official revealed that “all 55 aid trucks that entered Gaza yesterday were looted by desperate crowds before reaching their intended destinations,” highlighting the chaos driven by extreme hunger and lack of security.
The WFP stressed that “nothing has changed on the ground in Gaza,” and that no safe or alternative routes have been established for aid delivery despite repeated international appeals. In an official statement, the program warned:
“Aid must flow into Gaza urgently and at scale before it’s too late. There is a dire need for a massive increase in aid to reach all those suffering from hunger, wherever they are.”
Meanwhile, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced that 87 aid trucks entered the Strip today, but most were looted, accusing the Israeli occupation of “direct and systematic complicity” in facilitating the chaos.
The office said that the Israeli forces intentionally allow trucks in without proper coordination or protection, directing them to unsafe areas where there are no humanitarian organizations to oversee distribution.
It noted that the Israeli occupation is exacerbating the humanitarian collapse by fostering conditions that push starving civilians to surround and overwhelm aid convoys in desperation.
These developments come amid a severe famine that has already claimed the lives of over 130 people, mostly children, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health.
Hundreds of thousands of families are now suffering from extreme hunger, as food supplies, health services, and basic infrastructure continue to crumble under relentless airstrikes and a suffocating siege.
International organizations are calling for an urgent investigation into the conditions surrounding aid deliveries in Gaza and for holding Israel accountable for obstructing humanitarian efforts.
They warn that the humanitarian crisis could spiral completely out of control in the coming days unless safe and stable aid corridors are established immediately.
