DaysofPal- People with disabilities in the Gaza Strip have called on international organizations to ensure their access to their most basic rights: food and water, in ways appropriate to their physical and health conditions.
In a statement released on Saturday, they said:
“We cannot compete in long queues, nor can we go to the American death centers, nor stand in front of Israeli tanks that kill dozens of our people every day as they try to obtain food and water.”
They added, “We are deprived of the most basic human rights, especially the right to food and drink in a way that suits our health and physical needs.”
They continued, “We launch this appeal from the heart of a devastating famine that is killing the healthy, so what about us, the weak and vulnerable group, burdened with disease, disability, hunger, and thirst?”
They stressed that access to food and water is a legal right guaranteed by all international laws, customs, and both divine and human codes.
“How long will the world remain silent about the genocide, starvation, and thirst inflicted upon us?”
They expressed hope that their plea would awaken the global conscience and reach the honorable and free people of their nation, urging them to act to save them from this deepening tragedy.
