DaysofPal- The Government Media Office in Gaza has sharply criticized the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), a U.S.-based firm, for its reported involvement in establishing the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), accusing it of advancing what it called an “American-Israeli scheme” to forcibly displace Palestinians under the pretense of aid.
The backlash follows a Financial Times report on Saturday revealing that BCG was part of a multimillion-dollar project to help launch the GHF, including modeling the costs of relocating Gaza’s population. Although BCG has since distanced itself from the effort, Gaza officials say the damage is done.
“We warn against the continuation of these criminal projects that market the crime of forced displacement as a ‘humanitarian solution,’” the office said in a statement.
The statement added, “We hold all parties involved in or supporting these schemes fully responsible for the crimes committed against Palestinian civilians.”
Tensions surrounding the GHF have intensified as video evidence shows Palestinians being fired upon while attempting to retrieve food aid at GHF distribution points.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, more than 700 people have been killed in attacks targeting these aid sites since its establishment.
