DaysofPal- The Hamas Movement has announced its readiness to release all remaining Israeli captives in Gaza in a single exchange, provided Israel agrees to a permanent ceasefire, a full military withdrawal from the enclave, and the release of Palestinian prisoners.
Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem made the statement on Saturday, just before the seventh prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel under the current ceasefire agreement.
“The large-scale prisoner exchange today demonstrates the resilience, sacrifices, and bravery of the resistance in the Al-Aqsa Flood battle,” Qasem said.
He added that Hamas’s military wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, had compelled Israel to break its own conditions regarding prisoner releases, securing the freedom of key Palestinian detainees.
Speaking earlier, Hamas spokesperson Abdul Latif al-Qanou said that “the occupation’s commitment to the remaining clauses of the agreement and its implementation of the humanitarian protocol is essential to the completion of the upcoming prisoner exchanges.”
He criticized Israel for “failing to fully execute the terms of the ceasefire agreement, even after 33 days into the first phase.”
Later in the morning, al-Qassam Brigades released six Israeli captives in exchange for 602 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. The exchange is part of ongoing negotiations as both sides weigh the future of the ceasefire and broader conflict resolution efforts.
The three-phase truce, which began last month, temporarily halted the war, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 48,000 people, mostly women and children, and left Gaza devastated.
