DayofPal– The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has warned of a sharp escalation in Israel’s forced displacement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, calling it a “reproduction of the crime of genocide.”
The organization condemned ongoing military operations that have uprooted thousands from their homes, particularly in refugee camps across the region.
Since February 2, Israeli forces have carried out widespread raids in Al-Far’a refugee camp in Tubas, demolishing homes and infrastructure while imposing a strict curfew.
The Euro-Med Monitor reported that hundreds of Palestinian families were left with no choice but to flee under dire conditions, driven out by siege-induced starvation and threats of airstrikes.
The humanitarian organization revealed that Israeli army has already displaced the majority of Jenin refugee camp’s 13,000 residents, along with more than 11,000 people from Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps.
This marks one of the most extensive campaigns of forced displacement in the West Bank in decades.
The report highlighted that these operations go beyond expelling civilians from their homes. Israeli forces have also systematically destroyed and burned houses, obliterated infrastructure, and severed electricity, water, and communication networks—deliberately creating unbearable living conditions.
Over 35 Palestinians, including five children and two women, have been killed in the past 19 days, with nearly 300 others wounded.
Euro-Med Monitor warned that Israel’s continued impunity for its atrocities in Gaza is fueling its aggression in the West Bank, raising fears of a broader genocidal campaign.
In its concluding remarks, the organization urged the international community to take immediate action to halt Israeli military operations, protect Palestinian civilians, and pressure Israel to abandon its plans to annex the West Bank and impose full control over it.
