Israeli forces raided early on Monday at morning the Arroub refugee camp in the south of the West Bank and detained 14 Palestinians, including several minors, according to local sources.
They said Israeli soldiers attacked the camp after alleging that stones were thrown recently at Israeli settlers’ cars driving on a main north-south thoroughfare where the camp is located.
Among the detainees were one 14-year-old boy, one 15 year old and two 17 years of age. They also included a 50-year-old man.
The Israeli occupation army confirmed rounding up 13 Palestinians in the camp in a campaign conducted jointly with the Border Guards and police.
It added that they arrested six other Palestinians in West Bank raids, including three from the Hebron area in the south of the West Bank.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said in a report today that Israel detained a total of 22 Palestinians, including the 14 from Arroub camp and three from Hebron area.
It said two men, both aged 34 years, were also detained from the Tulkarm area, and one, 21-year-old, from Qalqilya, in the north of the West Bank. In addition, one man from Qalandia refugee camp and one from Kufr Aqab, both north of Jerusalem, were also detained, said the PPS.
