DayofPal– More than 341 humanitarian workers have lost their lives to Israeli attacks since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, according to Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Dujarric revealed during a media briefing, citing figures from the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) that Israeli air strikes had killed four humanitarian workers, three from World Central Kitchen and one from Save the Children, raising the total number of aid workers killed since October of last year to 341
He clarified that UN humanitarian partners are also warning that local food systems have been devastated by Israeli army’s ground operations, the bombardment of civilian areas and the presence of unexploded ordnance.
Israel’s flagrant neglect of protection to Gaza’s medical facilities and humanitarian workers has rendered delivering care and lifesaving aid nearly impossible. International organizations report that no place in Gaza is safe—neither for civilians nor for those risking their lives to provide essential support.
On November 30, Israeli airstrike targeted a World Central Kitchen (WCK) vehicle as it transported food supplies along Salah Al-Din Street in Khan Younis, killing three workers from the international NGO without any prior warning.
Earlier the same day, an Israeli airstrike killed 14 people while receiving flour south of Khan Younis city. Among the victims was Save the Children staff member 39-year-old Ahmad Faisal Isleem Al-Qadi, who was returning from the mosque to his displacement, where his wife and three-year-old daughter live.
Al-Qadi, who was deaf, is the second Save the Children member killed in Gaza since the Israeli genocidal war began.
