DaysofPal- The Palestinian Media Forum mourned in a statement issued on Monday the journalist Wafaa Al-Udini, who “dedicated her life and efforts to sharing the suffering of the oppressed Palestinian people with the international community.”
The prominent international media activist Wafaa Al-Udini was tragically killed in a treacherous Israeli bombardment that targeted her family’s home in Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip, the statement reads.
She used to advocate for the Palestinian cause relentlessly, through a series of articles in English, dialogues with foreign activists, online conferences, photo exhibitions, and short film competitions in English.
The assassination of Wafaa Al-Udini is a profound loss for a free and passionate voice that is filled with love for Palestine and its people in their struggle for freedom and self-determination.
The Journalist Wafaa Al-Udini joins dozens of the Palestinian media cadres who were killed in the continued Israeli crimes, bringing the total number of the journalists killed since the beginning of the Israeli genocide against the Gaza Strip to 174.
The Palestinian Media Forum renewed its call for the protection of journalists and the safeguarding of their ability to carry out their professional duties in accordance with international laws and humanitarian charters.
It also urged the international community to hold the Israeli occupation accountable for its continuous crimes against Palestinian journalists.
The Palestinian Media Forum reaffirmed its commitment to continue its message and media coverage, regardless of the immense sacrifices and challenges faced. It asserts that the comprehensive Israeli targeting of Palestinian journalists will not weaken their determination or divert their focus from Palestine.
