Tens of thousands of Palestinian citizens from Jerusalem, the West Bank and the 1948 occupied lands were able to observe the Friday khutba (sermon) and prayer at the Aqsa Mosque.
According to the Islamic Awqaf Authority, about 200,000 performed the Friday prayer at the Aqsa Mosque despite Israeli security restrictions.
Local sources said that the Israeli occupation police prevented thousands of Palestinians under age 40 from entering Jerusalem.
