Israeli settlers set up Monday, June 26, 2023, Palestinian-owned tents in the lands of Deir Sharaf, west of occupied Nablus.
The official in charge of the settlement file in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Douglas, stated that Israeli settlers set up tents in the Sahel area between Deir Sharaf, Sebastia and Barqa on the road linking the cities of Nablus and Tulkarem.
He added that Israeli settlers chased Palestinian farmers and shepherds in the area, and prevented them from being there at gunpoint.
Settlers’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank, as this includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on homes.There are over 700,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of International Law.
