Israel to Legalize 70 New Settlements, Outposts Soon

S.K | DOP -

The Israeli occupation government intends to start procedures for the legalization of no less than 70 new Israeli settlements and outposts during the next few weeks, most of which are located near existing settlements in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Israeli newspaper (Israel Hayom), these settlements will be kinked to another 9 Israeli settlements that were previously legalized in the West Bank by the Israeli government last February.

It’s intended that these illegal settlements will be provided with the full infrastructure of water and electricity, as well as security protection will be ensured as for the rest of the existing settlements.

It’s noteworthy that within 4 to 6 weeks, a list of names of those illegal outposts and settlements will be published to officially become part of the official infrastructure of the existing settlements.

Large financial budgets will be allocated from the current Israeli government for the establishment of these outposts and settlements. To legalize these outposts, the far-right Israeli government will have to prove that they were established on what Israel claims to be state land.

It’s worth noting that more than 650,000 colonial settlers were distributed among 164 illegal settlements and 124 outposts built on the stolen lands of occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

The West Bank and Jerusalem lands are occupied territories based on International law, due to this all Israeli settlement-building activities there are illegal.
