The Palestinian Prisoners Club warned Saturday, April 29, 2023, against the grave health condition of the Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa and held the Israeli occupation prison administration fully responsible for his condition.
The Palestinian prisoner Walid Daqqa, detained for 38 years now, currently suffers from cancer in the spinal cord and currently stays in Barzlai Hospital, with a serious health condition, pointing out that on April 12, he underwent serious surgery to remove part of his right lung.
It’s noteworthy that the prisoner’s wife and daughter, Milad, were able last Thursday to visit him at the Barzillai military hospital in Ashkelon, after more than two weeks of procrastination.
His wife confirmed that the prisoner Daqqa suffers from difficulty speaking, that he needs close medical supervision and continuous medical care, due to his general emaciation and severe weight loss.
The Prisoners’ Club added that the prisoner, Daqqa, suffer the continuous crime of medical maltreatment by the Israeli prison administration of “Ashkelon Prison”.
The Palestinian thinker Walid Daqqa (60), from the town of Baqa al-Gharbia in the lands of 1948, comes from a family consisting of three sisters and 6 brothers, noting that he lost his father during the years of his detention.
Prisoner Daqqa suffered a number of abusive policies against the backdrop of his knowledge productions in particular, and the occupation prison administration sought to confiscate his writings and private books and subject him to solitary confinement.
There are 4,765 Palestinians inside Israeli occupation prisons, including 400 who suffer severe and chronic illnesses, 31 women, and 500 administrative detainees.
In the absence of strong pressure to stop the systemic inhumane abuses, the racist and fascist policies of the Prison Service Administration have a negative impact on Palestinian detainees.
