Israeli occupation forces abducted 21 Palestinians in overnight raids in different cities across occupied West Bank, local Palestinian NGO said on Wednesday.
Eight people were abducted in raids on their homes in Bethlehem city in the occupied territory, the Palestinian Prisoners Society said in a statement.
Israeli occupation forces also abducted eight Palestinians in the cities of Ramallah, Al-Khalil, Nablus and Jenin, the NGO said, adding five minors were also abducted in raids on their homes in East Jerusalem.
The Israeli occupation army, for its part, said its forces had abducted 13 Palestinians in raids in the West Bank for “suspected involvement in terrorist activities.”
Israeli occupation forces frequently carry out sweeping abduction campaigns in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, targeting Palestinians who take part in anti-Israeli occupation protests.
According to Palestinian figures, over 6,400 Palestinians are being held in Israeli prisons, including 300 children and 400 patients.
