Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched Sunday, February 12, 2023 a large-scale detention campaign among Palestinian citizens in separate areas of the West Bank.
The occupation forces kidnapped three Palestinian citizens from the town of Jaba, south of occupied Jenin, at a military checkpoint near Nablus.
Local sources reported that last night, IOF kidnapped three young men: Majd Khaldoun Jarrar, Qusay Rawhi Muflih Kanaan, and Baraa Jawad Masalha, while they were passing through the “Shafi Shomron” military checkpoint established on Palestinian citizens’ lands, which connects Nablus Governorate with Jenin Governorate.
Today, Sunday, IOF detained three Palestinian citizens from occupied Tulkarm, Abd al-Rahman Abu Shihab (21), Ahmed Basil Muhammad Abu Shihab (27), from the suburb of Thanabah and Omar Mahmoud Ibrahim Yassin (25) after raiding and searching the homes of their relatives in Tulkarm.
IOF also detained Mohammed Abdel-Razzaq Abu Turki from Hebron, and Fadi Saeed Al-Amour from Yatta, south of Hebron, after raiding and searching their homes and tampered with their contents.
Meanwhile in Qalqilya, occupation forces detained a Palestinian boy from the town of Kafr Thulth, south of Qalqilya and Jihad Tawfiq Odeh (17), after they raided and searched his family’s house.
It’s noteworthy that these provocative acts in the West-Bank come amid the escalating atmosphere, especially after the formation of the new Israeli Government as it follows a systematic daily violations against Palestinian citizens, deliberate detention campaign, house demolitions and mandatory deportation policy in a multiplied approach in a way to suffocate and complicate Palestinian lives.
As part of Israel’s collective punishment policy, Israeli security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir threatened to carry out a military operation in occupied Jerusalem, which includes setting up checkpoints and ordering the police to search Palestinian vehicles and homes.
