DayofPal– At least 30 Palestinians were killed since midnight in a wave of deadly Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting multiple areas across the Gaza Strip.
The attacks, which spanned from the north to the south of the besieged territory, primarily hit residential homes, civilian gatherings, and displacement camps, according to local health officials and eyewitnesses.
In northern Gaza, Israeli warplanes carried out a series of intense airstrikes on Jabalia town, while artillery targeted the town’s eastern outskirts. Heavy drone presence and continued aerial bombardment were reported throughout the northern region.
In Gaza City, Israeli forces demolished several residential buildings in the eastern Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, coinciding with artillery fire on Al-Zaytoun and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods. Airstrikes also targeted Al-Shawa Square in Al-Daraj and areas near Al-Shamaa in the city’s south.
One of the deadliest attacks occurred in Deir Al-Balah, in central Gaza, where Israeli forces bombed a crowd of displaced Palestinians waiting in line to receive nutritional supplements for children. The strike killed 13 people, mostly women and children. Another airstrike hit the central area of the city near Al-Tayyara roundabout.
In Al-Bureij refugee camp, two brothers, Mohammad and Hussein Samir Abu Jild, their sister and a wife of them, were killed when their home was bombed. A separate strike on another Abu Jild family home in the same area caused further deaths and injuries.
In nearby Al-Nuseirat camp, one Palestinian was killed and others wounded when a home belonging to the Thabet family was hit.
Southern Gaza was also subject to intense bombardment, particularly in Khan Younis. Tanks shelled tents sheltering displaced families in the Al-Maslakh area, while drones dropped gas canisters, leading to dozens of suffocation cases.
Gunfire was also reported at Al-Rahma camp in western Khan Younis, alongside airstrikes on the Al-Batan Al-Samin and Western Camp districts.
In the eastern area of Bani Suheila, seven members of the Abu Shab family, including children and women, were killed in a strike on Al-Bursh School, which was housing displaced civilians.
In another attack, a child named Hassan Mohammad Lafi was killed in an airstrike, joining his father who was killed a year earlier. Child Yousef Hassan Al-Amour also succumbed to injuries sustained in a prior airstrike on a civilian vehicle near Asdaa Junction.
Israeli airstrikes further hit homes belonging to the Arefa, Qannan, and Mukhaimer families in the Western Camp area near Al-Shafi’i Mosque. Artillery shelling around Bir 19 in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis killed four displaced persons, while two others from the Zorab family died in a similar strike west of Rafah.
Since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the U.S. administration, has been accused of committing genocide in Gaza, with ongoing mass killings, destruction of infrastructure, forced displacement, and deliberate starvation of the population.
The war has led to over 195,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of whom are women and children. More than 10,000 remain missing, and hundreds of thousands have been displaced amid a worsening famine that has already claimed the lives of dozens of children.
