DaysofPal- A humanitarian crisis is unfolding in the occupied West Bank as approximately 25,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from their homes in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarem, along with surrounding refugee camps, under Israeli aggression in the area.
The ongoing Israeli military operations, now entering their 65th consecutive day in Jenin and 59th day in Tulkarem, have triggered widespread destruction, fear, and displacement, leaving thousands of families without shelter or basic necessities.
Jenin Under Siege: Homes Bulldozed, Lives Shattered
Local sources report that 21,000 citizens have been forcibly displaced from the city of Jenin and its adjacent refugee camp, as Israeli occupation forces intensify their assault.
The Jenin Municipality confirmed that approximately 1,000 Palestinians were evicted from their homes near the camp, with many of these properties converted into military barracks.
Israeli forces, accompanied by bulldozers, have been systematically destroying infrastructure, widening streets, and paving new roads inside the camp to facilitate military movements.
Residents describe a climate of terror, with live ammunition fired indiscriminately, drones hovering overhead, and infantry units conducting raids deep within civilian areas. The psychological toll on the population is immense, compounded by the loss of homes and livelihoods.
The number of displaced individuals from Jenin has surged to 21,000, with families fleeing to safer areas within the governorate or seeking refuge in nearby villages.
However, options for safe haven remain limited, as the broader region continues to face heightened military activity and insecurity.
Tulkarem and Nur Shams Camps: A Cycle of Aggression
In parallel, the cities of Tulkarem and its refugee camp, as well as the Nur Shams camp, are enduring their 46th consecutive day of Israeli military aggression.
Over 4,000 Palestinian families —equivalent to thousands more individuals—have been forcibly displaced amid relentless bombardments, sieges, and mass arrests.
Israeli occupation forces have escalated their presence in these areas, deploying large reinforcements of armored vehicles and bulldozers.
Entire neighborhoods have been placed under tight siege, restricting movement and access to essential services such as food, water, and medical care. Humanitarian organizations warn that the prolonged siege is exacerbating an already dire situation, with vulnerable populations—including children, the elderly, and disabled individuals—bearing the brunt of the suffering.
Humanitarian Concerns Mount
The scale of displacement and destruction has overwhelmed local communities and authorities, who lack the resources to adequately respond to the growing needs of displaced families.
With homes reduced to rubble and critical infrastructure damaged or destroyed, thousands of Palestinians find themselves homeless, exposed to harsh weather conditions, and uncertain futures.
Human rights groups and international observers have condemned the forced displacement and collective punishment of civilians, emphasizing that such actions violate international law. They call for immediate intervention to protect civilians and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected populations.
Calls for International Action
As the violence shows no signs of abating, advocates urge the global community to take decisive action. “What we are witnessing in Jenin and Tulkarem is not just a military operation—it is a systematic campaign to dismantle Palestinian life,” said one human rights activist. “Without accountability and pressure on the Israeli occupation to cease these unlawful practices, the suffering will only deepen.”
For now, the people of Jenin and Tulkarem endure unimaginable hardships, caught between the advancing forces and the ruins of their once-thriving communities. Their plight serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for peace, justice, and sustained support for those living under Israeli occupation.
