DaysofPal — The Lebanese Ministry of Health has confirmed that the death toll from the expanded Israeli aggression on Lebanon, which began in the early hours of Monday, has risen to 123 dead and 683 injured as of Thursday evening.
In an official statement, the ministry said: “Since the expansion of Israeli aggression from Monday morning until Thursday evening, the casualties have reached 123 martyrs and 683 wounded.”
Earlier on Thursday, the ministry reported 102 deaths and 638 injuries, before updating the figures.
The war escalated in the region on Monday when the Israeli occupation and the United States launched sustained attacks on Iran starting Saturday, which reportedly killed 926 Iranians, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
In response to ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon despite the 2024 ceasefire agreement, Hezbollah struck a military site in northern Israel on Monday.
The Israeli occupation escalated aggression, carrying out airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs as well as southern and eastern regions of the country, followed by limited ground incursions on Tuesday.
Israeli occupation previously killed over 4,000 people and injured around 17,000 during its aggression in Lebanon, which began in October 2023 and escalated into a full-scale war by September 2024.
For decades, Israeli occupation has occupied Palestinian lands and territories in Lebanon and Syria, refusing to withdraw and blocking the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
