DayofPal— A 63 -year-old woman named Zainab Mohammad Musbeh has passed away due to the cold temperatures in southern Gaza.
Musbeh lived in a tent in the Mawasi zone near Khan Younis under dire conditions and fears of relentless bombing.
The harsh winter conditions further worsen the suffering of families living in tents that lack even basic protection. In recent days, ten children have also lost their lives due to the severe cold.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the death toll of Hypothermia in Gaza has reached 22 since the winter started.
The overwhelming majority of Gaza’s population remains internally displaced due to Israel’s offensive and a rough winter has exacerbated the enclave’s humanitarian crisis.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’ (OCHA) humanitarian update on Gaza, 3,000 have been recently affected by adverse weather, which damaged the temporary structures they have lived in.
“Partners highlighted persistent challenges in accessing essential shelter‑sealing materials, including nails, timber and other basic items required to repair window frames, reinforce doors, and enhance protection from the elements,” OCHA said.
