Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has accused Tuesday, October 10, the Israeli occupation of committing “genocide” against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by imposing a “tight siege” on them.
“The Secretary-General of the United Nations has issued a statement that we have read carefully—a warning and alert about the genocide that has begun against the Palestinian people in Gaza,” President Maduro stated.
President Maduro further remarked, “We have witnessed massacres and brutal atrocities against the Palestinian people – by the Israeli occupation,” considering the current situation as a “new apartheid system” against Palestinians.
“We call for an immediate ceasefire, respect for United Nations resolutions, respect for the rights of peoples, and the commencement of peace negotiations so that the Palestinian people can regain their legitimate rights to independence, land, and peace,” he added.
“I stand in defence of the Palestinian people and in defence of peace,” said Maduro.
