DaysofPal- New figures from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reveal catastrophic destruction across the Gaza Strip since the start of Israel’s genocidal war in October 2023.
Nearly 80% of buildings, including schools, health centers, and humanitarian facilities run by UNRWA, have been either destroyed or severely damaged, leaving hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees without essential services.
The human cost is equally devastating. Over 370 UNRWA staff members, including teachers, doctors, nurses, and aid workers, have been killed since the Israeli genocide began.
Many were targeted in direct Israeli strikes on agency facilities or killed while performing humanitarian duties. Among the killed, six employees were killed in an Israeli strike at an UNRWA school in September 2024, marking one of the deadliest attacks on UNRWA personnel in the agency’s history.
These figures highlight the relentless impact of Israel’s operations on Gaza’s civilian infrastructure and humanitarian capacity. The systematic targeting of aid workers and essential services underscores the genocidal nature of the offensive, demanding immediate international accountability and urgent action to protect Gaza’s population and ensure humanitarian access.
