More than 38,000 women and girls were killed in the war on Gaza between October 2023 and December 2025, according to a new report released by UN Women.
The report said an average of 47 women and girls were killed every day during the genocide, highlighting the devastating toll the war has taken on Gaza’s civilian population.
UN Women stated that women and girls accounted for a significantly higher share of deaths than in previous Israeli assaults on Gaza, underscoring the scale of destruction and loss caused during the war.
The agency also warned that killings have continued even after the ceasefire reached in October 2025, although exact figures remain unclear due to the lack of gender-disaggregated data.
According to the report, around one million women and girls remain displaced across Gaza, while hundreds of thousands face severe obstacles in accessing basic healthcare services. More than 500,000 women are currently unable to obtain essential medical care, including prenatal and postnatal treatment.
UN officials said the widespread destruction of homes, hospitals, and civilian infrastructure has made daily survival increasingly difficult for women and families throughout the Strip.
The findings come as humanitarian organizations continue to warn of catastrophic living conditions in Gaza after months of bombardment, mass displacement, and the collapse of essential services.
