Israeli occupation authorities released Thursday, June 15, 2023, two Palestinian prisoners from the governorates of the northern Gaza Strip and the middle area, following the end of their sentences.
Local sources reported that the occupation authorities released the prisoner, Wajdi Al-Athamna, from the town of Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip, through the Beit Hanoun crossing, after a period of 16 yearsin Israeli prisons.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian prisoner, Murad Fahmy Abu Muailiq (46), from the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, is now released after the end of his 22-year sentence.
Israeli occupation authorities currently hold some 4900 Palestinians in prisons, including 160 children and 31 women.
