Thousands of Israeli settlers backed by Israeli military forces invaded on Monday, 10 April 2023 Jabal Sabih, south of Nablus.
Colonial settlers marched on the illegal outpost of ‘Avitar’ built on the top of Mount Abu Sbeih, with the participation of at least seven Israeli ministers and more than 20 Knesset members, including the minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, and the ultra-nationalist Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.
The march demanded the legalization of the ‘Avitar’ settlement outpost, reported Ghassan Douglas, the Palestinian official responsible for the settlement file in the northern West Bank.
Israeli forces quelled the Palestinian youths standing up against the Israeli settlers’ invasion, injuring at least 121 Palestinain youths with rubber or live bullets and gas bombs according to the Palestinain Red Crescent.
Israeli forces attacked the Palestinian journalists and injured some of them including the Palestinian journalist Mohamed Fawzy.
Israeli military forces heavily deployed on the roads at Za’tara and Hawara military checkpoints to secure the illegal settlers’ march and impeded the movement of Palestinian citizens from time to time.
The West Bank and Jerusalem lands are occupied territories based on International law due to this all Israeli settlement-building activities there are illegal.
