DaysofPal- The Swiss Foreign Ministry has called for the immediate lifting of the Israeli blockade preventing humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip for over two months.
In a statement published on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Switzerland expressed deep concern over the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the growing risk of famine, urging that emergency relief be provided following international humanitarian law.
Switzerland also reaffirmed its readiness to support partners in delivering aid and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the release of all hostages.
Gaza is facing a dire humanitarian situation after the Israeli occupation resumed its military offensive on March 18, despite Hamas having committed to a ceasefire agreement signed in January.
Since March 2, Israel has completely sealed all crossings, blocking the entry of aid, exacerbating living conditions and health crises in the besieged territory, according to both local and international reports.
