DayofPal— Recent high-resolution satellite images have laid bare a major new Israeli engineering project inside the besieged Gaza Strip, which envisions the construction of a colossal earthen barrier exceeding 23 kilometers in length.
The structure, described by Palestinian sources and international monitors as a de facto internal wall, aims to physically sever the territory and cement Israeli military dominance over vast swathes of land.
The barrier follows the “Yellow Line,” placing nearly half of Gaza’s territory under direct and permanent military occupation.
Far from a temporary security measure, the project involves extensive bulldozing of fertile agricultural lands, which once was the breadbasket for Gaza’s population, alongside the carving of wide military corridors and the establishment of fixed bases atop the ruins of destroyed Palestinian neighborhoods.
The barrier stretches from Rafah in the far south to Beit Lahia in the north, reshaping the topography of the coastal enclave at an alarming pace.
Military roads have been widened and newly forged, while large earthworks and fortified positions indicate a strategic intent to create enduring forward attacking bases.
These alterations are transforming both urban landscapes and civilian infrastructure under the pretext of dismantling resistance capabilities.
Satellite photographs also reveal deep scars across the land, expanding military tracks, and a towering earthen divide slicing through the heart of Gaza.
Palestinian field sources report that areas adjacent to the barrier have become lethal “no-go zones,” where civilians attempting to approach their homes, farms, or remaining property face immediate risk of live fire.
This has dramatically intensified the displacement crisis and further constricted the living space available to Gaza’s traumatized population.
Analysts view the project as part of a calculated long-term strategy to redraw Gaza’s internal geography, creating a fragmented reality that undermines the territorial unity and contiguity of the Strip.
Notably, the so-called “Yellow Line” has not been formally disclosed in any ceasefire negotiations or official political statements from Tel Aviv or Washington, allowing Israel to advance these facts on the ground away from international scrutiny.
This development occurs amid Israel’s ongoing genocide, which has already caused unprecedented levels of destruction and displacement.
By imposing new physical divisions and permanent military infrastructure, the Israeli occupation appears determined to render any future Palestinian sovereignty or reconstruction virtually impossible, entrenching a policy of spatial control and demographic engineering.
