DayofPal—The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has fiercely denounced remarks by Yisrael Katz, Israel’s Minister of Defense, who incites for the demolition of a new Palestinian refugee camp in the occupied West Bank and forced the displacement of its inhabitants.
The movement described, in a resolute statement issued on Tuesday, the proposal as a “fascist and terrorist” escalation that lays bare the criminal exterminationist ideology driving the occupation’s leadership.
Hamas emphasized that Katz’s inflammatory call represents an unequivocal expression of the genocidal mindset entrenched among Israeli officials, who have shown no hesitation in perpetrating the most heinous crimes and systematic violations against the Palestinian people.
The statement warns of a broader criminal agenda pursued by the extremist Zionist government, building upon previous declarations by far-right figures such as Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich.
The movement highlighted the danger of expanding the destructive model already witnessed in the refugee camps of Jenin and Tulkarm, where relentless Israeli military attacks have involved mass demolition, displacement, and widespread terror.
“These criminal schemes,” Hamas asserted, “aim to liquidate Palestinian presence in the camps as part of the occupation’s unchecked terrorist policies, which flout all international values, conventions, and norms.”
Underscoring the resilience of the Palestinian struggle, Hamas affirmed that the ongoing killings, acts of state terrorism, intimidation, and systematic destruction across West Bank cities and camps will fail to break the will of the Palestinian people, their valiant resistance, and revolutionary youth.
“Our people are stronger and more enduring than the occupation’s brutality and its sinister plots,” the statement declared.
Hamas further called upon the international community, the United Nations and its institutions, and global judicial bodies to uphold their responsibilities by confronting these dangerous plans, pursuing accountability for Israeli leaders’ crimes, and curbing the aggression against Palestinian land and lives.
The movement urged Palestinians across the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem, and the territories of 1948 to unify, mobilize, and intensify resistance at all points of confrontation against the far-right government’s settler-colonial violence.
Israeli forces and settler militias continue a campaign of home demolitions, land seizures, and lethal raids.
Human rights groups widely viewed Katz’s remarks as part of a long-standing policy of ethnic cleansing and annexation, aimed at erasing Palestinian demographic presence and consolidating control over the territory.
