DaysofPal – The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that seven people were killed and 25 others injured in the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours as Israeli military operations continued across the enclave.
The ministry said six of the fatalities were newly recorded deaths, while another victim succumbed to injuries sustained in previous attacks. Medical teams continue to receive casualties amid increasingly challenging conditions on the ground, with hospitals and emergency services operating under severe strain.
The ministry noted that an unknown number of victims remain trapped beneath the rubble or lying in areas inaccessible to rescue teams. Ongoing bombardment and the deteriorating security situation have prevented ambulance crews and civil defense workers from reaching many of the affected locations, raising concerns that the death toll could rise further.
Official figures show that since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, a total of 929 Palestinians have been killed and 2,811 injured. During the same period, rescue teams have recovered 781 bodies from various parts of the territory.
The cumulative toll since the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, has now reached 72,938 deaths and 172,919 injuries, according to the ministry’s latest statistics.
Health authorities also reported the addition of 112 previously uncounted fatalities to the overall death toll after their identities and records were verified by the committee responsible for confirming war-related deaths. The cases were approved and incorporated into official figures during May.
The latest casualty figures come as Gaza experiences the most intense Israeli escalation since a ceasefire agreement was reached in October 2025. The renewed genocidal campaign has fueled fears of a further deterioration in the humanitarian situation across the besieged territory.
The escalation has unfolded alongside statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who recently indicated that Israeli control over Gaza could expand from 60 percent to 70 percent in the coming period.
