The Human Rights Institutions Association – HRIA warned against, “A serious deterioration in the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip due to the continuation of the Israeli aggression for the second day in a row,” today Saturday, August 6th
The institution shared a post on it Facebook account stating a condemnation of the ongoing attack on Gaza saying, “The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the Gaza Strip for the second day, amid difficult living conditions experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, which may lead to a humanitarian disaster.”
The institution added, “The Israeli occupation forces intensified their attacks that have been mainly directed against civilians and civilian facilities and objects in all areas of the Strip. According to information received by the Human Rights Institutions Association – HRIA from the competent authorities in the Gaza Strip.”
The number of civilian deaths in the Gaza Strip has risen to (25) civilians, including seven children, a girl, and two women, while (203) other civilians, including (35) children and (15) women, were injured. The Israeli occupation forces continue their direct and deliberate attacks on civilian buildings, installations, and facilities, including residential homes, in all areas of the Strip, according to the ministry of health in Gaza.
The institution stated that “The continued escalation of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip will exacerbate the difficult humanitarian conditions in it, especially in light of the comprehensive closure that was imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the Strip about a week ago, and the siege imposed on it for nearly 15 years,”
The institution followed, “HRIA renews its condemnation of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and affirms that these Israeli actions constitute international crimes that require prosecution before the international judiciary, especially the International Criminal Court. The silence of the international community on the crimes of the Israeli occupation forces formed a cover for their crimes and granted them immunity to commit more crimes against defenseless civilians.”
Therefore, HRIA concluded the following that it:
1. Renews its calls to the international community to take urgent action to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and to oblige the Israeli occupation to hold its responsibilities in accordance with the provisions of international law regulating the state of occupation.2. Renews its call to the Secretary-General of the United Nations to condemn the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, to exert pressure on the occupation authorities to stop their attacks against civilians and civilian objects, and to work seriously to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian objects.
3. Urges local and international human rights organizations to expose the crimes of the Israeli occupation forces to force them to stop their aggression against civilians.
