Save the Children has called on the UK government to immediately halt arms sales to Israel, citing the potential use of these weapons in committing serious violations of international humanitarian law.
The charity made its plea via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, highlighting the urgent need to stop the violence against Palestinian children.
In its message, the NGO referenced a BBC News report detailing the tragic death of an entire family, including multiple children, in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza.
Save the Children emphasized that the ongoing violence faced by Palestinian children should not be accepted as normal.
The organization pointed to the devastating toll of Israel’s war on Gaza, which has claimed the lives of at least 16,500 children.
