DaysofPal – Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced that ceasefire negotiations regarding Gaza have not stopped, confirming ongoing work based on the latest proposal to which Hamas has responded.
Al Thani stated that Qatar continues to coordinate closely with Egypt and other partners to move toward the second phase of the ceasefire agreement for Gaza.
The Foreign Minister also firmly rejected the use of starvation as a weapon, emphasizing Qatar’s refusal to accept the deliberate deprivation of the Palestinian people.
Meanwhile, Israel’s genocidal assault on the Gaza Strip continues for the 41st consecutive day, amid widespread famine and deteriorating living conditions for displaced civilians across the enclave.
As Israeli airstrikes relentlessly pound Gaza, medical sources reported the killing of 17 Palestinians since early Sunday morning.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that hospitals across Gaza have received 51 martyrs, including 11 whose bodies were retrieved from under the rubble, along with 115 wounded individuals in the past 24 hours alone.
According to the Ministry’s daily update, since the resumption of the genocide on March 18, at least 2,151 Palestinians have been killed and 5,598 injured. Overall, since the beginning of the assault on October 7, 2023, the total number of martyrs has risen to 52,243, with 117,639 wounded.
Earlier, Qatari and Egyptian mediators had presented a new proposal offering a long-term ceasefire lasting between five and seven years.
According to Arab media reports, the proposal includes a prisoner exchange deal under which Hamas would release all Israeli captives in exchange for the release of a significant number of Palestinian prisoners.
The plan also envisions a complete end to the war and a full Israeli withdrawal from the devastated territory.
Qatar has played a pivotal role alongside Egypt and the United States in brokering the temporary ceasefire agreement reached last November, during which the first prisoner exchange deal was implemented. However, negotiations stalled after Israel resumed its military assault.
