DayofPal-Six Palestinians from Al-Bureij camp were killed and dozens others wounded after Israeli airstrike targeted the Safatawi cafeteria near the entrance to Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.
Horrific scenes showed bodies scattered on cafeteria tables, highlighting the growing toll of Israeli attacks.
Israeli forces intensified their assault on the Gaza Strip on Sunday, killing at least 53 Palestinians in a series of deadly airstrikes and attacks across the territory.
Many of the victims were women and children, as Israel’s military campaign shows no sign of slowing despite mounting international legal pressure.
In central Gaza, 18 people were killed in separate attacks. Israeli forces bombed an apartment belonging to the Al-Maqadama family in Al-Bureij camp, while four civilians were killed in a drone strike on a market stall near a mall in Deir Al-Balah.
In the nearby Algerian refugee camp in Rafah five more civilians, including four children, were killed in another Israeli attack.
In southern Gaza, Israeli warships opened fire on a fisherman off the coast of Khan Younis, killing him. Drone strikes targeted displaced civilians sheltering in tents in the Mawasi area, while a 17-year-old boy was killed in an airstrike on Khuza’a. Additional victims succumbed to injuries from earlier assaults in Khan Younis.
An airstrike on a tent sheltering displaced families near Hamad City killed eight people, including three children and one woman. A separate strike on a family home in southern Khan Younis claimed six more lives, four of them children.
In Gaza City, at least 15 Palestinians were killed when Israeli forces launched airstrikes on civilians gathering in the Al-Zaytoun and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods. Several of the victims were children, many killed alongside members of their families.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has resulted in over 50,000 deaths, according to local authorities, with the majority being women and children.
The ongoing offensive continues despite the International Criminal Court issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and genocide.
Additionally, the International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to cease actions amounting to genocide orders that so far remain unheeded.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate rapidly, with civilians bearing the brunt of relentless air, sea, and ground attacks.
