Dozens of Palestinians took part in an anti-settlement protest in al-Tuwana village and its neighboring villages in Masafer Yatta on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
The protest came to fail the Israeli settlement plans in Al-Kharouba village as Israeli settlers planned to seize the village’s land.
Palestinian activist Rateb Al-Jbour said that people in the area organized the protest to confront the Israel settlers’ attacks and theft.
He pointed out that settlers constructed concrete bases on the Palestinian lands in Al-Kharouba village in Masafer Yatta.
Activist Al-Jabour pointed out that Palestinian families in the village have the documents proving their ownership of these lands.
Palestinian families in Masafer Yatta, south of occupied Hebron, are regularly banned from construction or renovation by Israeli occupation forces.
Palestinian figures showed that Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 700 attacks against Palestinians and their properties in the occupied West Bank in January 2023.
The attacks included assaulting Palestinians, uprooting trees, razing lands, seizing properties, burning and vandalizing vehicles, and closing roads.
