The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) on Thursday denounced the UK government‘s “2030 road map“ for its bilateral relations with the Israeli occupation, expressing that it sends a signal that Israelis are allowed to keep on going against international law, such as the expansion of settlements and the proposed annexation of the West Bank.
On Tuesday, a roadmap was revealed which highlights Britain and the Israeli occupation as “liberty–loving, pioneering and prosperous democracies“ and calls for stronger strategic relations and combined efforts against “antisemitism, discrediting and anti–Israel prejudice.”
The road map pledges to address the UN‘s disproportionate focus on the Israeli occupation and its single–out in the Human Rights Council, while rejecting the labeling of the Israeli occupation as an “apartheid“ state according to Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. It further commits the UK to oppose the BDS movement.
Kamel Hawwash, chair of the PSC, decried the paper‘s omission of Palestinians and Netanyahu‘s violation of their rights, as well as the Israeli illegal claim to the entirety of Palestine.
