Palestinian Prisoners Continue Civil Disobedience, Protest in Hebron Denouncing Punitive Measures Against Them

S.K | DOP -

For the eighth day in a row, Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons continue their protest steps against the Israeli prison administration’s punitive measures against them.

The prisoner affairs specialist, Tamer Sabana, confirmed that there is a clear refusal inside the Israeli occupation detention centers for the new punitive measures taken against Palestinian detainees.

The prisoners’ steps gradually lead to an open hunger strike, which is scheduled for the first of the next month of Ramadan, and will depend on the extent of implementation of the punitive measures the Israeli occupation take against Palestinian prisoners.

In this regard, the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission north of Hebron and the Palestinian Prisoners Club organized a stand Monday evening, February 21, 2023 condemning the punitive measures being implemented against prisoners.

This came in response to the actions of the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir against the prisoners.
Dozens of Palestinian prisoners’ families, representatives of Halhul and North Hebron activists, and the factions and institutions working for the rights of prisoners participated in the stand, in which angry slogans were chanted in support of the prisoners.
