The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported on Monday, July 31, 2023, that the Palestinian prisoner, Asaf Zahran (47 years old) from Tulkarem, suffered a stroke.
As a result, he was transferred from “Rimon” prison to the Israeli “Soroka” hospital.
Until now, no further details have been revealed about his health condition.
In their statement, the Prisoners Club confirmed that Zahran is one of the sick prisoners who suffer from chronic diabetes and hypertension.
Over the past years, he faced medical negligence (slow death), and recently, his health condition has worsened.
The Prisoners Club pointed out that Zahran has been detained since 2005 and is sentenced to five life imprisonments plus 22 years.
Before his current detention that began in 2005, he was previously arrested and spent around nine years in prison.
Additionally, he faced persecution for about two years before his arrest.
The Prisoners Club holds the Israeli Prison Service fully responsible for the life and fate of Asaf Zahran and all sick prisoners who are victims of medical negligence (slow death).
