Israeli settlers established on Monday, July 30, 2023, a new settlement near Al-Taybeh Roundabout in the northwestern part of Jericho and the Jordan Valley.
According to Ayman Ghareeb, an activist in the Popular Resistance Committees in the Jordan Valley, some settlers set up a mobile “caravan” home near the descent of the Ma’arajat Road, close to Al-Taybeh Roundabout.
They brought their sheep, a mobile water tank, and equipment with the aim of seizing land belonging to local Palestinians in the area.
The United Nations, the International Court of Justice, and various countries consider Israeli settlements in the occupied territories as a violation of international law, specifically the Fourth Geneva Convention.
