In his speech at the UN, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called the international community and the Security Council to urgently end Israeli Occupation and a full membership at the United Nation.
“We are the exception. We are the only ones in the world who remains under occupation and on whom double standards are being applied.” Mr. Abbas declared.
He explained how Palestinians have suffered for decades under Israeli occupation
“Israel is giving total freedom to the army and to the terrorist settlers who are killing the Palestinian people in broad daylight, looting their land and their water, burning and demolishing their homes, compelling them to pay for the demolition, or forcing them to destroy their homes with their own hands, and uproot their trees,” he added.
In addition, he addressed the killing of Palestinian- American journalist Shireen Abu Aqla and other aggressive incidents committed by Israeli occupation forces.
“You all have heard about Shireen, I dare the US to prosecute those who killed her,” he said,
He concluded his speech by stressing on the importance of having a Palestinian State living in peace and prosperity.
““The State of Palestine is looking forward to peace,” he said. “Let us make this peace to live in security, stability and prosperity for the benefit of our generations and all the people of the region.” Abbas concluded.
