Palestine has secured another bronze medal in the ongoing Arab Games hosted by Algeria, bringing their total count to 9 medals, including 4 gold medals in swimming, 2 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals.
On Sunday, the Palestinian Iron Ball team won a bronze medal through the players Marwa Al-Farra, Shahd Al-Khatib, and Rowan Safi in the Petanque discipline.
This marks the first official participation of the Iron Ball game in Arab championships.
Swimmer Mahmoud Abu Gharbia also qualified for the finals of the 50-meter butterfly swimming event, with a time of 26.58 seconds.
The Palestinian wheelchair basketball team advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating their Libyan counterparts with a score of 58-44.
The Palestinian national team displayed an offensive approach during the first quarter but missed several scoring opportunities under the basket, allowing the Libyan team to take the lead.
In the second quarter, the Palestinian team played collectively, utilizing ball circulation among their players to break through the Libyan defense.
They then gained a clear advantage in the third quarter and extended the lead in the final quarter.
