Days of Palestine – Jerusalem
On Sunday, the European Union mission in the Palestinian territories expressed its “concern over the continuing tension” around Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The mission called, in a press statement, to “avoid acts of incitement and respect the status quo.”
The mission called on “the Israeli authorities, religious and community leaders on all sides to act urgently to calm this volatile situation.”
Israeli occupation forces stormed, at dawn on Sunday, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and assaulted worshipers and those stationed in its courtyards with beatings and thrusts, and forced evacuation, while the young men confronted them.
Large forces of the Israeli occupation police attacked the stationed men and women inside it, and beat them brutally, amid loud shouts of takbeer and chants calling for the protection of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Since this morning, more than a thousand extremist settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Mughrabi Gate, and performed Talmudic rituals and prayers, amid heavy security from the occupation police.
