Days of Palestine – Ramallah
Hanan Ashrawi, a former member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and a feminist activist, said that she couldn’t see the scene of the beating elderly and the assault of women in front of their children by Palestinian security forces again.
Ashrawi believed that if things did not end, and if the street’s exploitation against the people turned Fatah into a tool for security and turned security into a tool against the people, the PA would face a significant demolition.
In her interview with Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, she confirmed that we lived the day when we saw the components of one nation standing against themselves, which is the most dangerous thing that has happened to the Palestinians since 2007.
In her long speech, she indicated that the political system is entrenched in itself. There is a pattern of official political action that does not tolerate criticism and does not accept disagreement, which does not bear a view of the future or a path to salvation.
Ashrawi stressed: “The responsible leadership is supposed to listen well and diagnose well, to provide appropriate solutions to the situation we are living in.”
