Days of Palestine – Lod
A Palestinian young man was shot dead and two others suffered moderate bullet injuries when a Jewish resident of Lod City in central Israel (the 1948 occupied lands) opened fire at protesters rallying in solidarity with Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
Local sources told the Arab48 website that armed Jewish residents of Lod City targeted a group of Palestinian young protesters, killing one of them and injuring two others.
The Israeli police also arrested 16 protesters in the cities of Lod and Ramlah for allegedly throwing stones and launching firecrackers at its forces, torching tires, garbage containers, and cars on roads, and damaging private property.
Hundreds of Arab citizens on Monday night took to the streets of Lod, Ramlah, and other Arab areas in Israel to protest violent police crackdowns on their compatriots in Jerusalem and to express their solidarity with Gaza, which the Israeli army started to attack on Monday, killing and injuring a number of civilians.
