The Palestinian prisoner, Imad Al-Batran, from Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, has been continuing his open hunger strike for 45 days against his administrative detention in a harsh health condition.
The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) said in a statement, today, Monday, that the prisoner Al-Battran, who is currently isolated in "Nitzan Al-Ramla", suffers from emaciation, weakness, and aches in the joints, stomach, and head.
The head of the Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority, Major General Qadri Abu Bakr, said that the prisoners in the Israeli jails suffer difficult living conditions, as a result of repressive practices, collective punishment, and denial of their most basic legitimate rights stipulated by international law.
Badran already went on a hunger strike in 2013, for 105 days, and in 2016, for 36 days.
There are 440 administrative detainees in the occupation prisons, while 175 orders, including 51 new ones and 124 renewals, were issued in the months of January and February of this year, according to the PPS.
