Days of Palestine – Washington
A poll was conducted in the United States on whether the Israeli occupation should continue to be placed at the top of the list of recipients of American support, despite the assertion by human rights organizations that Palestinians are subjected to apartheid.
And 38.1 percent of Americans said that Washington should stop providing that big support to the Israeli occupation, given the practice of "apartheid" confirmed by the Israeli "B'Tselem" organization.
On the other hand, 33 percent of Americans said: Washington should continue to place the occupation at the top of the list of recipients of support, while 28.9 percent preferred other options.
It was noticeable in the results that they differed between the American regions. The percentage of those opposed to supporting the occupation rises to 43.4 percent in the northeastern United States, compared to 39.1 percent in the Midwest, while the percentage decreases in the south and west, to 36.4 and 36.2, respectively.
The poll was conducted by the IRemp Foundation, which specializes in Middle East affairs, ahead of the annual "IsraelLobbyCon" conference, on April 17 and 24, against "Israeli Apartheid."
This year's conference aims to "explore the latest research, innovations, and tactics to counter the harmful Israeli lobby policies in the United States and around the world."
In the "B'Tselem" report, the organization concluded by emphasizing the definition of "Israel" as a system of apartheid in light of the accumulation of policies and laws that were put in place to consolidate control over the Palestinians, especially the "Judaism of the State" law.
