The Israeli occupation forces Tuesday stormed the home of the liberated Jerusalemite prisoner Majd Barbar in the town of Silwan in occupied Jerusalem and re-arrested him one day after his release.
The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that its crews dealt with 12 injuries from tear gas canisters, beating, and rubber wounds in clashes with the Israeli occupation forces during the arrest of the prisoner Barbar.
It stated that a number of the injured were treated on the ground, while others were moved to hospital for treatment.
The Israeli occupation forces also attacked Barbar’s family with batons and gas and citizens who were celebrating his release from the Israeli occupation’s prisons, where he spent 20 years.
On Monday, the Israeli occupation authorities released the prisoner Barbar from the town of Silwan, after a delay of several hours and depriving his family of holding a festival celebrating his release.
Majd was arrested on March 30, 2001, in a campaign targeting a group of Jerusalemites, and he was sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of resisting the occupation and belonging to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, where he left behind his wife, son Muntasir, and his daughter Zina, who was not more than 15 days old at that time.
Majd and his comrades fought the difficult and long rounds of an investigation by the occupation intelligence services in Al-Maskobiya prison.
The occupation targets Jerusalemites through arrests, deportations, and fines, with the aim of removing them from Al-Aqsa Mosque, and leaving it as an easy spot in front of settlement ambitions.
