Days of Palestine – Qalqilya
Eight Palestinians were injured with sponge bullets and dozens suffocated with tear gas during the weekly protest against Israeli settlement construction, which takes place every Friday in the village of Kafr Qaddum and to call on Israeli authorities to reopen the village’s main road, which has been sealed off by the occupation authorities since 2002.
Media spokesman in the Qalqilya region, Murad Shteiwi, said that Israeli soldiers attacked the protesters by rubber-coated rounds and teargas, injuring eight of them, one of them in the face. Others sustained suffocation from gas inhalation.
The march began with the participation of hundreds of townspeople, after Friday prayers, from Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque towards the gate that closes the main street.
