Days of Palestine – Jericho
Israeli occupation forces today, Wednesday, demolished 4 agricultural ponds in the village of Marj Naajah and Khirbet Allan "Al-Shouneh" from the village of Al-Jiftlik, north of Jericho, in the West Bank, with a capacity of 4,900 cups, and owned by farmers Salih Abu Hashem, Munir Nasra, and Nasr Zubeidat.
In turn, farmer Qais Nasasrah said that 3 Israeli occupation mechanisms supported by his Israeli forces destroyed two agricultural pools, one feeding about 50 dunums of grapes, while the other fed about 15 dunums of dates.
"The Israeli occupation forces also demolished an agricultural pond of Nasr Zubaid, which fed about 50 dunums of his crops, estimating the cost of establishing the targeted ponds at tens of thousands of dollars," he added.
In a related context, the Israeli occupation forces demolished earlier in the day a pool for collecting agricultural water, with a capacity of 1400 cups, and it fed dozens of trees of dates in the "Khuzuq Musa" area of Marj Naajah village, north of Jericho.
The head of Marj Naajah Village Council, Kayed Masoud, stated in press statements that the Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished and destroyed a pond of water in one of the palm farms in the "Khazouq" area, north of the village, owned by Saleh Abu Hashem, and its capacity is estimated at 1,400 cups, and about 20 families benefit from it, feeding tens of the dunums planted with palms, pointing out that the demolition process falls within the framework of the policy of restrictions on Palestinian citizens and farmers in the Jordan Valley, and striking their livelihoods.
